Comments

Suggested text: If visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to aid spam detection.

An anonymized string generated from your email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you are using it. Here is the privacy policy for Gravatar service: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once approved by us, your profile picture is shown in the context of your comment, and it’s publicly visible.

Media

Suggested text: If you share images on the site, you should use caution when uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Users of the site are able to download and extract all location data from images posted at the site.

Cookies

Suggested text: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. They are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will keep for 1 year.

How long we retain your data

Ejusdem Generis: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained until it is manually removed. That is so we can identify and automatically approve any followup comments, rather than holding them for our moderation queue.

For users that register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. An explanation must be provided before leaving the site All users can access, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (they don’t have the ability to change their username). Website administrators can view and edit that information as well.

What rights you have regarding your data
